Brother Kevin Pope

  March 10, 1950 - July 14, 2003

    District Representative Kevin Pope passed away on July 14,

2003 and will be missed by all who knew him. Local Lodge President Mark McWilliams wrote,  Kevin Pope fought hard for all of us at Pratt & Whitney through tough negotiations and the strike.  Kevin  had been ill recently but that didn't stop him from showing up and fighting this Company when they announced the latest proposed job cuts.   There were some classic moments sitting across from the Company which made me glad Kevin was on our side (he told it like it was). His hard work will con- tinue through us.

    The picture I posted of Brother Pope was taken at a rally in Hartford where Kevin Pope walked strong as always beside our brothers and sisters to once again protest something he believed in. I think this is how Brother Pope would like us to remember him, standing strong for his beliefs and never giving up the fight.
